Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Edgardo Silva started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Nicholas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 5 minutes, Wilson Amorim successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Wilson Amorim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edgardo Silva in the 6th minute. In the 8th minute of the game Fabricio Andrade made a throw-in which Bruno Bastos played forward. Edgardo Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Edgardo Silva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilson Amorim was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. New England Minas's Edgardo Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Edgardo Silva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilson Amorim was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. After some careless play in the New England Minas defense, Caetano Moreira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jeremy Nicholas. The New England Minas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jeremy Nicholas should have stopped the shot. In the 27th minute, Felipe Barreto made a precise shot to the right of Jeremy Nicholas. New England Minas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Edgardo Silva came free with the goalkeeper in the 32nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Wilson Amorim could save by the left post. 37 minutes into the game, Edgardo Silva recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Wilson Amorim. Edgardo Silva showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Portugal's Wilson Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Portugal from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgardo Silva got free with Wilson Amorim in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Portugal's Rodolfo Miranda managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Glen Conklin in the 45 minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Pacheco in the 46th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 49th minute New England Minas were awarded a corner. Conny Tingberg went to the cornerflag to take it. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Viriato Moura to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goalkeeper Jeremy Nicholas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Viriato Moura. 54 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar Nordmark came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 63 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Caetano Moreira. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Caetano Moreira hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Conny Tingberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. New England Minas's supporters rose to their feet, but Conny Tingberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tony Pacheco, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After a rather tough play, New England Minas's Conny Tingberg got a free kick in the 69th minute. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. When New England Minas's Tio Lio in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Portugal's goalie prevented a goal. In the 74th minute, Tony Pacheco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The New England Minas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Tony Pacheco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Nordmark in the 79th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilson Amorim stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oscar Nordmark's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tony Pacheco in the 82nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tio Lio in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilson Amorim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tio Lio in the 85th minute of the match. Jeremy Nicholas made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Graciano Coutinho sent off a good shot on target. New England Minas's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Graciano Coutinho 86 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 4-3. The supporters of New England Minas booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caetano Moreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89th minute Tony Pacheco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tio Lio in the 90th minute of play. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tio Lio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 91 minutes into the match, New England Minas's Tony Pacheco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tony Pacheco scored 5-3 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilson Amorim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. New England Minas's Tony Pacheco got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 98th minute of the match, Bartolomeu Dias tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jeremy Nicholas saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. New England Minas fully deserved thier win.
