The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 魏宽银s short, quick shot in the 4thth minute got Tommy Kahn to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 6 minutes into the game, GRÊMIO's Dimitris Saravakos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommy Kahn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Frank Sachs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Tepedino having to interfere. GRÊMIO's Dimitris Saravakos got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zé Ortiz scored 3-0 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Kahn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Sven Krakouer hit a great ball. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 齐庭默, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. With a little luck, Germany's Tommy Kahn got control of the ball when Dimitris Saravakos tried to sneak it across the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by 魏宽银. Germany's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Frank Sachs in the 41st minute. After taking down the ball on Germany's corner Frank Sachs fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Frank Tepedino quite easily take care of the ball. Anderson Ceresso thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Frank Tepedino, a very annoying self made goal in the 42nd minute which led to 3-1. Dimitris Saravakos took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1.

After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Germany's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Sachs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frank Tepedino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 魏宽银 in the 54th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, GRÊMIO's 齐庭默 got a free kick in the 55th minute. Vladimir do Valle blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tommy Kahn having to make a save. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Fenomeno, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. GRÊMIO's 魏宽银 suffered a concussion after 60 minutes and had to leave the field. In the 60th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Janik Vogt to maneuver through the defense. GRÊMIO made a substitution. Arti Lerø replaced 魏宽银. When 齐庭默 came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the GRÊMIO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that 齐庭默 couldn't finish the play. A throw-in in the 68th minute of the game was made by Anderson Ceresso with Ronaldo Fenomeno as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Zé Ortiz hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 85th minute, Dimitris Saravakos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommy Kahn was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frank Sachs in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frank Tepedino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Chris Mergenthaler kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. After 94 played minutes, GRÊMIO's 齐庭默 shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tommy Kahn came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in GRÊMIO reached it. Vladimir do Valle struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Tommy Kahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GRÊMIO.
