In the 12th minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şemsettin Tuyuğ saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A throw-in in the 15th minute of the game was made by Rodolfo Miranda with Caetano Moreira as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. With an all-out effort, Portugal's Şemsettin Tuyuğ threw himself towards the right post 90 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bartolomeu Dias, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Şemsettin Tuyuğ didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Graciano Coutinho went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score.
