In the 16th minute, David Eikelkamp made a precise shot to the right of Décio Tróia. LaCity's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Célio Nunes made a kick off. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Haroldo Viana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Décio Tróia made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. Décio Tróia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 55th minute of the match. In the 76th minute Célio Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Décio Tróia firmly grabbed it by the left post. 85 minutes into the match, LaCity's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Meesters came free, but Décio Tróia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 91st minute of play forced LaCity's goalkeeper Décio Tróia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Décio Tróia having to interfere. The LaCity fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Netherlands were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
