Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariusz Bondel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Germany's Frank Sachs got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zbyszek Kaider showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Sachs, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd minute Germany were awarded a corner. Frank Sachs went to the cornerflag to take it. 35 minutes into the game, Tadeusz Siekierka cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Tommy Kahn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 40 minutes in the game, Mariusz Bondel fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariusz Bondel in the 40th minute of play.
