The crowd rose to their feet as Pueblo FC's Vern Wright slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tommy Kahn. That made the score 2-0 after 14 minutes of play. The supporters of Pueblo FC booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven Krakouer didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute, Jackson Valle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mohammed Flanagan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Germany's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Vern Wright 23 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. 27 minutes into the game, Pueblo FC's Gerry Franco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommy Kahn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. 32 minutes into the match, Vern Wright notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Germany's Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 36 minutes into the match, Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vern Wright. Frank Sachs struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Boyd Winkler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Germany. Tommy Kahn made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Greg Shipley sent off a good shot on target. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vern Wright, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.
The wind increased when Vern Wright made the kick off in the second half. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 58 played minutes Pueblo FC got a freekick which was hit by Ari Willingham. After a rather tough play, Pueblo FC's Tyrell Houser got a free kick in the 60th minute. The audience was convinced that Vern Wright's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vern Wright in the 63rd minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Malte Schiele hit a great ball. Jackson Valle fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 73rd minute. Pueblo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vern Wright was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 80 minutes into the match, Vern Wright notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Germany's Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vern Wright, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Vern Wright, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 92 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Tommy Kahn was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Adrian Dreifuss's late challenge caught a Pueblo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adrian Dreifuss helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Germany's Adrian Dreifuss got a free kick in the 94th minute. In the 95th minute of the match Jackson Valle sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tommy Kahn skillfully saved the ball. 97 minutes into the game, Gerry Franco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Tommy Kahn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Pueblo FC had played much better football throughout.
