Roland Backman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Sachs, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frank Sachs in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roland Backman saved Kåge BF from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Torsten Bäcklin took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Tommy Kahn to make any attempt to save it. Thanks to some nice moves Andreas King could shoot a difficult shot in the 11th minute, which Tommy Kahn however easily saved by the left post. Roland Backman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Sachs in the 12th minute of the match. After 13 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Chris Mergenthaler. In the 16th minute, Andreas King got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torsten Bäcklin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Germany booed when Kåge BF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Janusz Tipinski didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frank Sachs to make the kick off. Roland Backman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank Sachs in the 57th minute. Albin Holweck struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Roland Backman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Germany. In the 62nd minute, Torsten Bäcklin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kåge BF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 65 minutes in the game Hjalmar Spetz did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Janusz Tipinski. After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Torsten Bäcklin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Torsten Bäcklin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Kåge BF were victorious despite being under pressure from Germany for much of the match.
