In the 35th match minute, La Cosa Nostra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agnaldo Reis to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 36th minute of play forced La Cosa Nostra's goalkeeper Sonny Alén to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute, Hans Bergfelt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zaccheo Andolina made a kick off. After a rather tough play, La Cosa Nostra's Ahmet Boran Tekinalp got a free kick in the 51st minute. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agnaldo Reis in the 55th minute of play. Ramon Achterberg made in the 58th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Italy's Siricio Liotta. After some careless play in the La Cosa Nostra defense, Zaccheo Andolina kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sonny Alén. The La Cosa Nostra fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sonny Alén should have stopped the shot. Deodato Magliozzi got a throw-in 62 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Sigfrido Auletta. 63 minutes into the game, Sigfrido Auletta recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sonny Alén. Sigfrido Auletta showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. Zaccheo Andolina might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sonny Alén. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zaccheo Andolina ran back to his position shaking his head. 70 minutes into the game, Håkan Šuker cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Flavio Vittori was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 73 minutes in the game Ramon Achterberg did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Håkan Šuker. 76 minutes into the match, Sigfrido Auletta notched a goal, 2-5, to the right of La Cosa Nostra's Sonny Alén. Sonny Alén was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. La Cosa Nostra's Maurício Mansilha was substituted for Håkan Šuker. La Cosa Nostra's Mao Yang Yang was substituted for Ricardo Araújo. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind La Cosa Nostra's goalkeeper Sonny Alén, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
