David Eikelkamp made a great header on Netherlands's corner, it was just that Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Haroldo Dante managed to reach the ball for a save. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Haroldo Dante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aníbal Sá in the 11th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Haroldo Dante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner led to Netherlands's David Eikelkamp getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Mathijn Doctor kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Tarcisio Couto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 19 minutes into the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Haroldo Dante. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gijsbert ter Kruimer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Haroldo Dante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Aníbal Sá slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Arnout Reekers. That made the score 1-1 after 27 minutes of play. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Haroldo Dante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 29th minute of play. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enzo Nahia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 36 minutes Netherlands's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tarcisio Couto who took care of the corner kick. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Haroldo Dante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 39th minute of play. Haroldo Dante came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Wim Wilmes. But to his dismay, Wim Wilmes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 46th minute Enzo Nahia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
The wind increased when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off in the second half. Aníbal Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 57th minute David Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Haroldo Dante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Haroldo Dante didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Breno Loyola was substituted for Enzo Nahia. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 74th minute of play forced Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalkeeper Haroldo Dante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalkeeper Haroldo Dante, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 86th minute, Nilmar de Moraes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 89 minutes of play, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Nilmar de Moraes made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 95 minutes into the game, David Lima cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Arnout Reekers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
