Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 20 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ceandro Castillo. If Gaizkine Escobar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. But to his dismay, Ceandro Castillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Bassam Wahbi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Meesters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bassam Wahbi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wim Wilmes in the 66th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 68 minutes, Bassam Wahbi successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Arnout Reekers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gaizkine Escobar went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 80th minute of play forced U Alcaravaneras's goalkeeper Bassam Wahbi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. After a defensive mix-up in U Alcaravaneras's zone, Gijsbert ter Kruimer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bassam Wahbi came out of the goal and Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
