Fidel Havier ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Edward Vanderstraeten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Axel Ree might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Casper Claes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Axel Ree ran back to his position shaking his head. 24 minutes into the match, Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Axel Ree. After having played for 26 minutes, Axel Ree managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monks in Robes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Axel Ree was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 36th minute of the match Monks in Robes got a corner. Belgium's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Monks in Robes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edward Vanderstraeten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After 42 minutes of play, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kristen Gulskov was left in no man's land by his defense there! Casper Claes made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Axel Ree sent off a good shot on target. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edward Vanderstraeten was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kristen Gulskov. Kristen Gulskov yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Edward Vanderstraeten kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kristen Gulskov. That made the score 1-4 in the 58 minute of play. Edward Vanderstraeten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kristen Gulskov having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Monks in Robes's Joachim Mæhle got a free kick in the 66th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Ree in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Casper Claes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kristen Gulskov made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a good shot on target. Edward Vanderstraeten struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Kristen Gulskov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Belgium. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yves Dervaux got free with Kristen Gulskov in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 80th minute of the match Belgium got a corner. Monks in Robes's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edward Vanderstraeten ran over to the corner to take the kick. Belgium's Simon Sabbe was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Kristen Gulskov in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Edward Vanderstraeten managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belgium's supporters rose to their feet, but Edward Vanderstraeten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kristen Gulskov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Monks in Robes's Kristen Gulskov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Monks in Robes from getting a goal against them. In the 89th minute Monks in Robes were awarded a corner. Fidel Havier went to the cornerflag to take it. Kristen Gulskov made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Monks in Robes's zone, Edward Vanderstraeten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kristen Gulskov came out of the goal and Edward Vanderstraeten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Belgium's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
