Benjamin Malvin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Malvin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Albino Canor came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The wind increased when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off in the second half. Benjamin Malvin made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 54th minute. Lars Meesters made a great header on Netherlands's corner, it was just that Santos de Buenos Aires FC's Benjamin Malvin managed to reach the ball for a save. After 55 played minutes Santos de Buenos Aires FC got a freekick which was hit by Teodosio James. Santos de Buenos Aires FC's Matias Remir was substituted for Blas-Armando Giunta. Through an outstanding action, after 76 minutes, Benjamin Malvin successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Danilo Seber in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wim Wilmes struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Benjamin Malvin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands.
