In the 42nd minute Yves Dervaux shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marjus Laçka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Belgium's Casper Claes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurelio Iacovacci in the 45th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

56 minutes had been played when some careless play by Belgium's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ferdinando Boninsegna was slow to take the kick. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundson Ross in the 79th minute of the match. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugenio Cherubini in the 84th minute of play. With a little luck, ❇ᛗᛁᛏᚱᚺ‍ᚨᚾᛞᛁᚱ❇'s Marjus Laçka got control of the ball when Siebe Michiels tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 88th minute, Siebe Michiels reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marjus Laçka. The goal made the score 3-4. A collision led to ❇ᛗᛁᛏᚱᚺ‍ᚨᚾᛞᛁᚱ❇ getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Alex Buffone hit a great ball. Siebe Michiels sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Belgium walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
