Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 3rd minute of play forced Verbano FC's goalkeeper Attilio Marzoli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 6 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Dreifuss. After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Martyon Brading stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Martyon Brading tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Flavio Proietti fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Verbano FC's protests and gave Flavio Proietti a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Verbano FC's Flavio Proietti got a free kick in the 10th minute. Tommy Kahn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martyon Brading in the 12th minute. After 16 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Chris Mergenthaler. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martyon Brading in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommy Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martyon Brading, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Attilio Marzoli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulrich Stein in the 38th minute of the match. The supporters of Germany booed when Verbano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilio Lauri didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute, Adrian Dreifuss hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Martyon Brading scored 1-0 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Kahn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 46 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Martyon Brading came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Martyon Brading to strike the kick off in the second half. Tommy Kahn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Florian Cavallaro went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 55th minute, Frank Sachs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adrian Dreifuss's late challenge caught a Verbano FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adrian Dreifuss helped the player get up and apologised. In the 64th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Dreifuss to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th minute Martyon Brading shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frank Sachs's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Attilio Marzoli firmly grabbed it by the left post. Verbano FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
