The goal made the score 1-0. Safet Hands made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 16th minute of play. Edward Vanderstraeten might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Safet Hands. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Vanderstraeten ran back to his position shaking his head. After 22 played minutes The Obscurials got a freekick which was hit by Anton Kjellkvist. 26 minutes into the game, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Safet Hands made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Virgílio Bezerra struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Casper Claes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Obscurials. Virgílio Bezerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Safet Hands took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute Anders Westerstrand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Safet Hands made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 44th minute of play. Anton Kjellkvist's late challenge caught a Belgium's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anton Kjellkvist helped the player get up and apologised. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edward Vanderstraeten was the one to do the kick off. Belgium's Lenny Clocheret quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Anton Kjellkvist, made in the 51st minute of the game. 52 minutes into the match, The Obscurials's goalkeeper Safet Hands had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yves Dervaux. 56 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Ribeiro came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Obscurials were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after Belgium's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Danton Keam took the corner. The Obscurials's Danton Keam was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Casper Claes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 64th minute, Anders Westerstrand ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Casper Claes was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Edward Vanderstraeten scored 2-2 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Safet Hands, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 75th minute of the game Guillaume Bonte made a throw-in which Edward Vanderstraeten played forward. With a little luck, The Obscurials's Safet Hands got control of the ball when Edward Vanderstraeten tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 80th match minute, Belgium was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillaume Bonte to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anders Westerstrand in the 83rd minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 85 played minutes The Obscurials got a freekick which was hit by Nelson Wright. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Vanderstraeten got free with Safet Hands in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edward Vanderstraeten received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Safet Hands came out and tried to block the shot, but Edward Vanderstraeten slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 86th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edward Vanderstraeten in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Safet Hands prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 92 minutes into the game, Lenny Clocheret was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Belgium's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Obscurials the free kick. Lenny Clocheret hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The Belgium players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
