The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Frits Douwes the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of S.C. Potentia protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Frits Douwes had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Frits Douwes kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. In the 8th minute, Toni Mauzer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Croatia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Pierre Landzaat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toni Mauzer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pierre Landzaat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toni Mauzer in the 20th minute of the match. When Naci Ünüvar came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the S.C. Potentia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Naci Ünüvar couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Croatia booed when S.C. Potentia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timo van Persie didn't get a good kick on the ball. Croatia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.C. Potentia the free kick. After a rather tough play, Croatia's Damir Pongrac got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Ruud Schokkenbroek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Neven Culina got free with Pierre Landzaat in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Neven Culina's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Pierre Landzaat firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a little luck, S.C. Potentia's Pierre Landzaat got control of the ball when Toni Mauzer tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Patrik Terzic hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 95th minute Ruud Schokkenbroek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilija Skugor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Croatia had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
