The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 22nd minute of play forced Sunkens Surtröjor's goalkeeper Sokol Narev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Börje Njurenius sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Börje Njurenius got free with Arnout Reekers in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sunkens Surtröjor's Sokol Narev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Frans Alström left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sunkens Surtröjor fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Sokol Narev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 37th minute of play. After 44 minutes of play, Sunkens Surtröjor's Victor Blom made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victor Blom was the one to do the kick off. 57 minutes into the match, Sunkens Surtröjor's goalkeeper Sokol Narev had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wim Wilmes. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frans Alström, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. 62 minutes into the match, Sunkens Surtröjor's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Sokol Narev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Sokol Narev in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 86th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Sunkens Surtröjor's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frans Alström in the 89th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st minute Frans Alström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 94 minutes, Eugeniusz Tomporowski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sunkens Surtröjor and the Netherlands players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot the penalty kick right outside the post. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Netherlands walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
