Clay Oconnell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernt Nordmark, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stew Hicks got free with Jörgen Gummeson in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonatan Käcker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Jonatan Käcker managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garphyttan's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonatan Käcker was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clay Oconnell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. SnapperHeads F.C.'s Clay Oconnell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonatan Käcker in the 11th minute of play. The corner led Garphyttan's Egon Bratt to a score. 0-1 in the 12th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Garphyttan's goalkeeper Jörgen Gummeson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stew Hicks. After 20 minutes, Egon Bratt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Garphyttan and the SnapperHeads F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Garphyttan getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Egon Bratt hit a great ball. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Garphyttan's goalkeeper Jörgen Gummeson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 28th minute Bernt Nordmark shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clay Oconnell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dallas Blattman got free with Jörgen Gummeson in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dean Martin charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a defensive mix-up in SnapperHeads F.C.'s zone, Jonatan Käcker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clay Oconnell came out of the goal and Jonatan Käcker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Clay Oconnell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jens-Ola Nordin in the 43rd minute of the match. Jens-Ola Nordin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Stew Hicks made the kick off in the second half. Jörgen Gummeson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ralph Brady in the 51st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Jens-Ola Nordin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garphyttan's supporters rose to their feet, but Jens-Ola Nordin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
