The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Antero Rebocho struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Faustão de Carvalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stars Academy. Stars Academy's Miguel Carneiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Stars Academy from getting a goal against them. After 10 played minutes Stars Academy got a freekick which was hit by Américo Conde. With a little luck, Stars Academy's Miguel Carneiro got control of the ball when Sílvio Luís Correia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Faustão de Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antero Rebocho in the 18th minute of the match. After 19 played minutes FRIENDS CITY got a freekick which was hit by Léo Leite. The audience was convinced that Antero Rebocho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Faustão de Carvalho was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Miguel Carneiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorginho Paranaense in the 25th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Léo Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Miguel Carneiro stood somewhat misplaced when Luiz Fabiano Gomes came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 47 minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Luiz Fabiano Gomes made the kick off in the second half. When Antero Rebocho came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Stars Academy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antero Rebocho couldn't finish the play. After 56 minutes, Óscar Eiró mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stars Academy and the FRIENDS CITY players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 56th minute, Óscar Eiró hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62nd match minute, Stars Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celso Estrada to maneuver through the defense. Miguel Carneiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorginho Paranaense, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 77th minute Luiz Fabiano Gomes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Carneiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Stars Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Jorginho Paranaense came free, but Miguel Carneiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sílvio Luís Correia took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Miguel Carneiro. Miguel Carneiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 85th minute, Stars Academy's Santiago Pinho seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Santiago Pinho the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Stars Academy protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Santiago Pinho had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to Stars Academy getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Santiago Pinho hit a great ball. Miguel Carneiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fabiano Gomes in the 87th minute of play. Miguel Carneiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Fabiano Gomes's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. Miguel Carneiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Luís Correia in the 97th minute of play. Stars Academy's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
