In the 45th minute, Prudencio Goiz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Abuba Akotonon FC fans' excitement grew in the 48th match minute when Abuba Akotonon FC's Vânderson Barbosa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Hugo Orlando Gatti stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Saturnino Romo's shot from short distance in the 98th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Abuba Akotonon FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
