Jeremias Cordario came out of the goal and Vânderson Barbosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arquímedes Ladio made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Cezary Borkowski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arquímedes's supporters rose to their feet, but Cezary Borkowski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hugo Orlando Gatti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Arquímedes defense, Genaro Elivareo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jeremias Cordario. The Arquímedes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jeremias Cordario should have stopped the shot. Cezary Borkowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeremias Cordario showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cecilio Tristan in the 94th minute of the match. Arquímedes's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
