The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alvar Öberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cecilio Tristan in the 4th minute of play. After having played for 9 minutes, Vânderson Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abuba Akotonon FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vânderson Barbosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fred Karlsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Orlando Gatti having to interfere. Alvar Öberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cecilio Tristan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atletico Rio Tercero's zone, Cecilio Tristan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvar Öberg came out of the goal and Cecilio Tristan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cecilio Tristan in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alvar Öberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Atletico Rio Tercero's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Genaro Elivareo was slow to take the kick. During this time Abuba Akotonon FC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Genaro Elivareo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Alvar Öberg quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Vânderson Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abuba Akotonon FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vânderson Barbosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alvar Öberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alvar Öberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emiliano Enol's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Atletico Rio Tercero's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Genaro Elivareo was slow to take the kick. During this time Abuba Akotonon FC's players had a chance to rest. Hugo Orlando Gatti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fred Karlsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alvar Öberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emiliano Enol in the 34th minute of the match. In the 35th minute of the match Abuba Akotonon FC got a corner. Club Atletico Rio Tercero's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Genaro Elivareo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Vânderson Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hugo Orlando Gatti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fred Karlsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Alvar Öberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cecilio Tristan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
After 54 played minutes Club Atletico Rio Tercero got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Eladio. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cecilio Tristan in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alvar Ă–berg saved Club Atletico Rio Tercero from getting behind. Alvar Ă–berg made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Cecilio Tristan sent off a good shot on target. Club Atletico Rio Tercero's Alvar Ă–berg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Club Atletico Rio Tercero from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atletico Rio Tercero's zone, Genaro Elivareo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvar Ă–berg came out of the goal and Genaro Elivareo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Club Atletico Rio Tercero's Alvar Ă–berg got control of the ball when Cecilio Tristan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alvar Ă–berg made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Cecilio Tristan sent off a good shot on target. In the 70th minute, Fred Karlsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Atletico Rio Tercero fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 76th minute, Emanuel Aurre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Abuba Akotonon FC's Cecilio Tristan in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Club Atletico Rio Tercero's goalie prevented a goal. Hugo Orlando Gatti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saturnino Rubio in the 85th minute of the match. In the 87th match minute, Club Atletico Rio Tercero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Orlanda to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Club Atletico Rio Tercero's Alvar Ă–berg got control of the ball when Cecilio Tristan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Abuba Akotonon FC's goalkeeper Hugo Orlando Gatti, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the Abuba Akotonon FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Club Atletico Rio Tercero.
