With a little luck, Palermo's Alfredo Joey got control of the ball when Julian Raymundo tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Q. T. Palermo's Alfredo Joey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anibal Lluques in the 6th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelino Chaime in the 11th minute of play forced Q. T. I.'s goalkeeper Paulo Txatxu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximino Gonzalez in the 14th minute of play forced Q. T. I.'s goalkeeper Paulo Txatxu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anibal Lluques in the 18th minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Alfredo Joey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Q. T. I.'s Jonas Henrico got a free kick in the 18th minute. A collision led to Q. T. I. getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Horacio Dolfo hit a great ball. Paulo Txatxu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santiago Mino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute Arnoldo Medina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Txatxu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30thth minute of the game Anibal Lluques who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Palermo's Alfredo Joey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 31st minute Santiago Mino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Txatxu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Txatxu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arnoldo Medina's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. In the 33rd minute, Maximino Gonzalez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paulo Txatxu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximino Gonzalez, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After some careless play in the Q. T. I. defense, Marcelino Chaime kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulo Txatxu. The Q. T. I. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo Txatxu should have stopped the shot. Paulo Txatxu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnoldo Medina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maximino Gonzalez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Santiago Mino to make the kick off. A sloppy throw-in by Alfons Hellström in the 51st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Q. T. I.'s Leon Abascal. Alfredo Joey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximino Lorenz in the 52nd minute of play. Q. T. I.'s Leon Abascal quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alfons Hellström, made in the 53rd minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Arnoldo Medina kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Paulo Txatxu. That made the score 0-2 in the 56 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santiago Mino in the 62nd minute of play forced Q. T. I.'s goalkeeper Paulo Txatxu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Q. T. I.'s Leopoldo Vermudo was substituted for Jonas Henrico. 64 minutes into the game, Alfons Hellström threw the ball into play from the sideline. Q. T. I.'s Leon Abascal quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 65th match minute, Q. T. I. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Haroldo Montrel to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Q. T. I.'s Paulo Txatxu got control of the ball when Marcelino Chaime tried to sneak it across the goal line. Q. T. Maximino Lorenz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Palermo's Alfredo Joey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anibal Lluques in the 79th minute of play. Q. T. I.'s Paulo Txatxu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Q. T. I. from getting a goal against them. Palermo's Santiago Mino was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Paulo Txatxu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Santiago Mino got in the 87th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Paulo Txatxu handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. After 87 minutes, Santiago Mino made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Q. T. I.'s Paulo Txatxu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 89 minutes into the game, Alfons Hellström threw the ball into play from the sideline. Q. T. I.'s Leon Abascal quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Alfredo Joey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Abascal in the 90th minute of play. The supporters of Q. T. I. booed when Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saul Felo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Palermo's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
