Loco Gatti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dráuzio Pontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Arne Grabner stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Froilan Bartolome's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sportivo Mela Banco's goalkeeper Loco Gatti, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 30 minutes into the match, Falconara Albanese's Dráuzio Pontes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Loco Gatti narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arne Grabner came out of the goal and Bruno Sauveur tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

With his leg Arne Grabner managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when Sportivo Mela Banco's Bruno Sauveur fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
