Andoni Zubizarreta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Andoni Zubizarreta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ubarna Marcos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Gerard Nogueira hit a great ball. Valencia C.F.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Ubarna Marcos scored to the left of an out of position Andoni Zubizarreta, making the score, 2-0. 19 minutes into the match, ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Ubarna Marcos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andoni Zubizarreta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Miguel Brito hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ubarna Marcos got free with Andoni Zubizarreta in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Roberto Carlo in the 24th minute. After taking down the ball on ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s corner Roberto Carlo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Andoni Zubizarreta quite easily take care of the ball. Andoni Zubizarreta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ubarna Marcos in the 27th minute. If Miguel Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice moves Gerard Nogueira could shoot a difficult shot in the 37th minute, which Andoni Zubizarreta however easily saved by the left post. Florentin Gougeon struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Clemente Savier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Valencia C.F.. Andoni Zubizarreta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ubarna Marcos went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Florentin Gougeon was the one to do the kick off. Andoni Zubizarreta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ubarna Marcos went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ booed when Valencia C.F. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lennie Wedlock didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ubarna Marcos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Rodrigo Barrera was substituted for Resulhan İsmihan. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ made a substitution. Remigio Jungejohan replaced Roger Lantadilla. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Cristopher Damian was substituted for Roberto Carlo. Andoni Zubizarreta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Barrera, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Andoni Zubizarreta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristopher Damian in the 66th minute of play. In the 68th minute Remigio Jungejohan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andoni Zubizarreta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Valencia C.F. defense, Remigio Jungejohan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andoni Zubizarreta. The Valencia C.F. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andoni Zubizarreta should have stopped the shot. Andoni Zubizarreta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristopher Damian, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. After 75 played minutes ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ got a freekick which was hit by Edilberto Bustillos. After 76 played minutes Valencia C.F. got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Brito. Andoni Zubizarreta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ubarna Marcos went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. Andoni Zubizarreta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ubarna Marcos, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Andoni Zubizarreta came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Rodrigo Barrera. But to his dismay, Rodrigo Barrera quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. Andoni Zubizarreta came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Rodrigo Barrera. But to his dismay, Rodrigo Barrera quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ had played much better football throughout.
