Ekhemos Kezdoglou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 5th minute of the match. In the 11th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ekhemos Kezdoglou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Eren Tuygun got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ekhemos Kezdoglou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 16 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by David Eikelkamp. FC Acatar's Ekhemos Kezdoglou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 22nd minute of play. If Lars Meesters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Ekhemos Kezdoglou made a huge save. Kees Mooiweer hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 78th minute of play forced FC Acatar's goalkeeper Ekhemos Kezdoglou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute Eren Tuygun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Netherlands booed when FC Acatar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gigel Durbac didn't get a good kick on the ball. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
