Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arkadiusz Piatek in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maxime Durand prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind France's goalkeeper Maxime Durand, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 32 minutes, Arkadiusz Piatek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AS Monaco FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arkadiusz Piatek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Henry Robiquet hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After 37 played minutes AS Monaco FC got a freekick which was hit by Zbyszko Mierzwa. After having played for 38 minutes, David Barbier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. France's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Barbier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Roch Puch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camille Baume, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arkadiusz Piatek was the one to do the kick off. Arkadiusz Piatek blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maxime Durand having to make a save. Arkadiusz Piatek might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maxime Durand. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arkadiusz Piatek ran back to his position shaking his head. Maxime Durand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arkadiusz Piatek, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Maxime Durand didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arkadiusz Piatek went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Arkadiusz Piatek's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maxime Durand read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. In the 64th minute of the match AS Monaco FC got a corner. France's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Slawomir Snow ran over to the corner to take the kick. AS Monaco FC's Slawomir Snow was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Maxime Durand in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in AS Monaco FC's zone, Robert Chapuis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roch Puch came out of the goal and Robert Chapuis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jairo Guifre might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maxime Durand. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jairo Guifre ran back to his position shaking his head. France's Maxime Durand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jairo Guifre in the 68th minute of play. In the 75th minute, one of France:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for France. Maxime Durand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jairo Guifre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute Avram Ştef shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maxime Durand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Slawomir Snow fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AS Monaco FC's protests and gave Slawomir Snow a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of France booed when AS Monaco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Slawomir Snow didn't get a good kick on the ball. 91 minutes into the match, France's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Guifre came free, but Maxime Durand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 94 minutes had been played when some careless play by France's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Slawomir Snow was slow to take the kick. During this time AS Monaco FC's players had a chance to rest. Slawomir Snow made a great header on AS Monaco FC's corner, it was just that France's Maxime Durand managed to reach the ball for a save.
