Gabriel Ascaso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Thanos in the 4th minute of play. Gabriel Ascaso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tony Thanos in the 6th minute. Spain's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Bruno Fonso scored to the left of an out of position Gabriel Ascaso, making the score, 1-0. Thanks to some nice moves Bruno Fonso could shoot a difficult shot in the 18th minute, which Gabriel Ascaso however easily saved by the left post. Club Ibiza were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Spain's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mambru Tarapiella took the corner. 21 minutes into the game, Club Ibiza's Bruno Fonso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gabriel Ascaso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Through an outstanding action, after 24 minutes, Gabriel Ascaso successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Gabriel Ascaso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgardo Cosca in the 24th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Club Ibiza's Edgardo Cosca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gabriel Ascaso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bruno Fonso took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gabriel Ascaso. Gabriel Ascaso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.
Rene Higuita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adria Bielsa, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 58th minute Bruno Fonso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Ascaso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Fonso in the 71st minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute, Gelu Cozmâncă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Club Ibiza made a substitution. Xie Bin Wei replaced Cacey 武磊. Rene Higuita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carles Cherro, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Many of Spain's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Spain may have spent more time on the ball, but Club Ibiza were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
