The audience was convinced that Gianluca Lapadula's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but J.C. Buffon was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. 23 minutes into the game, Miguel Aimar threw the ball into play from the sideline. AC Papicho's Tabb Panizo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Alexander Shaw took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristján Kipper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

AC Papicho made a substitution. Rodolfo Mora replaced Egun Lisundia. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gianluca Lapadula stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gianluca Lapadula recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 61 minutes into the game, AC Papicho's Gianluca Lapadula nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. J.C. Buffon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0.
