The supporters of Balus Treter booed when Skövde AIK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lu Rong Yi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Skövde AIK's Karl-Erik Norström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gottlieb Hammer in the 33rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Kevin Keegan could shoot a difficult shot in the 34th minute, which Karsten Zielinski however easily saved by the left post. Milenko Ermentraut made in the 40th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Skövde AIK's Lu Rong Yi. In the 42nd minute, Gottlieb Hammer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gottlieb Hammer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
