After having played for 8 minutes, Andreas Sandell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mansfield Town FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andreas Sandell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tor Olofsson got free with Holger Vester in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celedonio Dominguez in the 16th minute of play forced Mansfield Town FC's goalkeeper Hampus Gallberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute, Luigi Elin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Holger Vester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tor Olofsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 29th minute Celedonio Dominguez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hampus Gallberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Holger Vester showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tor Olofsson in the 30th minute of the match. Holger Vester made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tobias Bern in the 47th minute. In the 48th minute Tor Olofsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Holger Vester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Celedonio Dominguez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Holger Vester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tor Olofsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 56 minutes into the match, Hammarby IF's goal looked a bit too open when Tor Olofsson came free, but Holger Vester reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mansfield Town FC's Andreas Sandell got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximilian Seger in the 62nd minute of play forced Hammarby IF's goalkeeper Holger Vester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celedonio Dominguez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Hampus Gallberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcus Nilsson was slow to take the kick. During this time Mansfield Town FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Mansfield Town FC's Marcus Nilsson to fire away a dangerous shot which Holger Vester despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 82nd minute Luigi Elin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Holger Vester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
