In the 11th minute, Carl Jonsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Francesco Totti received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ronnie Hellström came out and tried to block the shot, but Francesco Totti slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 14th minute. Holger Vester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carl Jonsson in the 17th minute of play. When Gnaget United FC's Bogdan Utretskiy in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hammarby IF's goalie prevented a goal. In the 21st minute Siro Benvido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Holger Vester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Gnaget United FC's Ronnie Hellström got control of the ball when Francesco Totti tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gösta Söderberg got free with Ronnie Hellström in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Gnaget United FC getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Okaner Dilşad hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Siro Benvido to strike the kick off in the second half. Holger Vester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Siro Benvido in the 54th minute of play. After 56 played minutes Gnaget United FC got a freekick which was hit by Ukko Pihkala. In the 59th minute Siro Benvido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Holger Vester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Holger Vester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Siro Benvido, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Hammarby IF made a substitution. Anders Lindblom replaced Bo-Erik Wallin. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Siro Benvido in the 69th managed to get into a good position. The tension between the Hammarby IF and the Gnaget United FC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
