With an all-out effort, The Blues's Keld Paulsen threw himself towards the right post 7 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Giorgos Trikoupis, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Bertram Svenningsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 14th minute of play forced The Blues's goalkeeper Mira Bobo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, The Blues's goal looked a bit too open when Chris Nygaard came free, but Mira Bobo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicolas Mechlenborg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of The Blues booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bjarne Kirkegaard didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fillip Horsdam got a throw-in 25 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Thorkild Lindekær. Chris Nygaard scored 0-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mira Bobo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 28th match minute, The Blues was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolas Mechlenborg to maneuver through the defense. Mira Bobo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris Nygaard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Giorgos Trikoupis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alf Aaker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Keld Paulsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mira Bobo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bertram Svenningsen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Denmark were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alf Aaker made a kick off. If Mikkel Wulff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bertram Svenningsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mira Bobo having to interfere. Bertram Svenningsen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The throw-in from Thorkild Lindekær in the 75th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Denmark's Mikkel Wulff. Mira Bobo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chris Nygaard, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. With an all-out effort, Denmark's Mira Bobo threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Chris Nygaard, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Theis Winther during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Denmark's Theis Winther got a free kick in the 78th minute. In the 84th minute of the game Fillip Horsdam made a throw-in which Thorkild Lindekær played forward. The supporters of The Blues booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Theis Winther didn't get a good kick on the ball. André Jay struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Keld Paulsen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Blues. In the 94th minute, Alf Aaker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
