In the 4thth minute of the game Adam Olaru who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Protegéerna's Ingemar Åberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 6 minutes into the game, Cosmin Barbulescu threw the ball into play from the sideline. Protegéerna's Ossi Eloranta quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. A throw-in in the 7th minute of the game was made by Cosmin Barbulescu with Rasvan Cristescu as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The supporters of Protegéerna booed when Romania was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vasile Ciumak didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute of the match Michael Näver sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carol Stinga skillfully saved the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Fernando Arango in the 11th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Romania's Rasvan Cristescu. 12 minutes into the match, Romania's Adam Olaru sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ingemar Åberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ingemar Åberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam Olaru in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute Costica Vladimiri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingemar Åberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute Costica Vladimiri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingemar Åberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Romania's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Michael Näver was slow to take the kick. During this time Protegéerna's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Protegéerna's Michael Näver to fire away a dangerous shot which Carol Stinga despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ingemar Åberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Costica Vladimiri, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute, Adam Olaru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ulrik Söderlund kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Petter Skarkman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carol Stinga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Petter Skarkman to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Costica Vladimiri in the 55th minute of play forced Protegéerna's goalkeeper Ingemar Åberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Ingemar Åberg managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when Romania's Alex Serban fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 58 minutes into the match, Romania's Adam Olaru sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ingemar Åberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petter Skarkman in the 69th minute of play forced Romania's goalkeeper Carol Stinga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute, Jan Persson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Protegéerna's Bo Låsberg was substituted for Fernando Arango. 78 minutes in the game Cosmin Barbulescu did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Rasvan Cristescu. After 80 minutes of play, Romania's Octavian Vaduva made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ingemar Åberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! 82 minutes into the match, Protegéerna's goal looked a bit too open when Anton Stinga came free, but Ingemar Åberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carol Stinga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petter Skarkman in the 89th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Protegéerna's Ossi Eloranta got a free kick in the 92nd minute. An unexpected shot in the 94th minute by Octavian Vaduva got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
