Elija Vergara hit a great ball. When Wim Wilmes came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wim Wilmes couldn't finish the play. Santiago Fuentes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnout Reekers was a little too slow when Epifanio Leceta got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 2-0. The audience was convinced that Gustaaf Groeneveldt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Santiago Fuentes was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Epifanio Leceta sent off a good shot on target. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Epifanio Leceta made a kick off. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 50th minute. Santiago Fuentes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The throw-in from Kees Mooiweer in the 53rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by ℄ΣᏩモ₦ፚ ℱ.Ȼ's Xandro Oribe. Santiago Fuentes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 55th minute. The supporters of ℄ΣᏩモ₦ፚ ℱ.Ȼ booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustaaf Groeneveldt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Epifanio Leceta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Gustaaf Groeneveldt kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Santiago Fuentes. That made the score 2-2 in the 73 minute of play. Epifanio Leceta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnout Reekers having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, ℄ΣᏩモ₦ፚ ℱ.Ȼ could leave the field as winners, despite Netherlands having more of the ball for most of the match.
