Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer started the match with the kick off. Jānis Lielais showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. 9 minutes into the match, Indris Tomass dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Arnout Reekers, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in SK Annenieki's zone, Gijsbert ter Kruimer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jānis Lielais came out of the goal and Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jāzeps Pics could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. Jānis Lielais showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 21st minute of the match. Jānis Lielais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SK Annenieki's goalie prevented a goal. 32 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jānis Lielais narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the SK Annenieki defense, Gustaaf Groeneveldt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jānis Lielais. The SK Annenieki fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jānis Lielais should have stopped the shot. In the 35th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jānis Lielais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's David Eikelkamp got a free kick in the 47th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After 53 played minutes SK Annenieki got a freekick which was hit by Renāts Skipors. The long shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 53rd minute really tested Jānis Lielais's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Renāts Skipors hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. In the 62nd minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Kees Mooiweer managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. A collision led to SK Annenieki getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Reinholds Jaunzems hit a great ball. After 67 minutes, Jāzeps Pics mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SK Annenieki and the Netherlands players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SK Annenieki's Jāzeps Pics got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 69th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bas Tuitert to maneuver through the defense. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinholds Jaunzems in the 70th minute of play. David Eikelkamp blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jānis Lielais having to make a save. SK Annenieki's Jāzeps Pics got his second yellow card of the match in the 88th minute. The referee ordered Jāzeps Pics off the ground. Jānis Lielais showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by SK Annenieki's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Netherlands's Wim Wilmes to fire away a dangerous shot which Jānis Lielais despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Jānis Lielais tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
