Santos Perez came out of the goal and Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Netherlands defense, Arden Poulin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnout Reekers. The Netherlands fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnout Reekers should have stopped the shot. Warner Anaya kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santos Perez having to interfere. When Wim Wilmes came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wim Wilmes couldn't finish the play.
