An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 13th minute of play forced Giresun United F.K ©'s goalkeeper Bayram İnceman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alemdar Oykan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bayram İnceman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 19th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Giresun United F.K ©'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the game, Giresun United F.K ©'s Naci Tuncel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnout Reekers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Bayram İnceman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 32nd minute of the match. Bayram İnceman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Giresun United F.K ©'s Uygur Okatan was substituted for Sercan Ekinoğlu. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Georg Bringtoft came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Netherlands walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
