Frank Teixeira took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Keld Paulsen. Keld Paulsen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. A hard, long distance shot from Olav Graversen flew over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Frank Teixeira kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Keld Paulsen. That made the score 2-0 in the 30 minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Severo Dubardo in the 37th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Denmark's Theis Winther. Robbie Southgate showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chris Nygaard in the 40th minute of the match. In the 45th minute Chris Nygaard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robbie Southgate saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chris Nygaard charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chris Nygaard the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Chris Nygaard hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Keld Paulsen acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 48th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Aníbal Barral. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Luís do Valle in the 53rd minute of play forced Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dorian Linhares in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Keld Paulsen saved Denmark from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chris Nygaard in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Robbie Southgate saved Independente F.C. Limeira from getting behind. Robbie Southgate took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris Nygaard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Keld Paulsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Teixeira in the 63rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Independente F.C. Limeira's zone, Chris Nygaard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robbie Southgate came out of the goal and Chris Nygaard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 73rd minute, Kenn Skou hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Keld Paulsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Luís do Valle in the 74th minute of play. Mito Kannemann charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mito Kannemann the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Denmark booed when Independente F.C. Limeira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mito Kannemann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amador Quinten hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Denmark's Chris Nygaard got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Frank Teixeira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Keld Paulsen was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. Chris Nygaard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Denmark's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
