Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Saverio Niva made the kick off which started today's match. After a defensive mix-up in Vancouver Reds's zone, Viriato Moura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santana Armada came out of the goal and Viriato Moura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Saverio Niva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 13th minute of play forced Vancouver Reds's goalkeeper Santana Armada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the game, Saverio Niva recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Wilson Amorim. Saverio Niva showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felipe Barreto in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santana Armada prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Felipe Barreto might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Santana Armada. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felipe Barreto ran back to his position shaking his head. Santana Armada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 34th minute of play. Portugal's Faustino Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Vancouver Reds defense, Viriato Moura kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Santana Armada. The Vancouver Reds fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Santana Armada should have stopped the shot. Vancouver Reds made a substitution. Jakub Kiwior replaced Roberto Perfumo. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wágner Recife, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saverio Niva in the 94th minute of the match. In the 95th minute Saverio Niva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Vancouver Reds fans cheered their team off the field, for while Portugal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
