The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Al Whada FC defense, Dave Panno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of David Drent. The Al Whada FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that David Drent should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Moner Hayat during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 10th minute of the match Joélson Leme sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but David Drent skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Panno in the 11th minute of play forced Al Whada FC's goalkeeper David Drent to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Al Whada FC's zone, He Peng Zhou stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Drent came out of the goal and He Peng Zhou tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dave Panno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Natã Miranda in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Drent prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Al Whada FC's David Drent played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valério Meireles in the 21st minute of play. The supporters of Mamutes EC booed when Al Whada FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yaqoub Bo Shehri didn't get a good kick on the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Al Whada FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Panno came free, but David Drent reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Drent made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dave Panno in the 25th minute of play. After 26 minutes Al Whada FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joélson Leme who took care of the corner kick. Joélson Leme made a great header on Mamutes EC's corner, it was just that Al Whada FC's David Drent managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natã Miranda in the 28th minute of play forced Al Whada FC's goalkeeper David Drent to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dave Panno scored 0-3 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of David Drent, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. David Drent made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dave Panno in the 35th minute of play. He Peng Zhou sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Al Whada FC defense, Valério Meireles kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of David Drent. The Al Whada FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that David Drent should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valério Meireles in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg David Drent saved Al Whada FC from getting behind. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dave Panno to make the kick off. David Drent took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dave Panno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barakat Al Khars kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Mamutes EC's Amadeu Rocha was substituted for Joélson Leme. After 58 played minutes Al Whada FC got a freekick which was hit by Barakat Al Khars. In the 62nd minute, Valério Meireles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. David Drent was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. 69 minutes into the match, Al Whada FC's goal looked a bit too open when He Peng Zhou came free, but David Drent reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 74 played minutes Al Whada FC got a freekick which was hit by Awwad Al Ansari. In the 78th minute, Mamutes EC's Marcelo Osório ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind David Drent. David Drent yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-7. In the 84th minute, Mamutes EC's He Peng Zhou dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-8. After a rather tough play, Al Whada FC's Barakat Al Khars got a free kick in the 88th minute. Al Whada FC's David Drent proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Al Whada FC from getting a goal against them. Al Whada FC's David Drent played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Panno in the 92nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valério Meireles in the 93rd minute of play forced Al Whada FC's goalkeeper David Drent to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 94 minutes of play, Mamutes EC's Natã Miranda made it 0-9 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. David Drent was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Al Whada FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mamutes EC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
