Antal Valentin was slow to take the kick. During this time Hungary's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Hegedus Henrik heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Marian Văduvescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Major Barna in the 20th minute of play. Hungary's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Antal Valentin in the 21st minute. Balazs Lajos was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The long shot by Nicolae Barbu in the 27th minute really tested Fodor Daniel's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 29 minutes into the match, FC Steaua Pildesti's goal looked a bit too open when Antal Valentin came free, but Marian Văduvescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Nistor Costandache hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 37 played minutes FC Steaua Pildesti got a freekick which was hit by Zygmunt Dunajski. The supporters of FC Steaua Pildesti booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bakos Endre didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 43 played minutes Hungary got a freekick which was hit by Takacs Tibor. Marian Văduvescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antal Valentin in the 45th minute of play. Major Barna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Antal Valentin made the kick off in the second half. Marian Văduvescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antal Valentin in the 52nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antal Valentin got free with Marian Văduvescu in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 60 played minutes Hungary's Major Barna stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Marian Văduvescu stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing FC Steaua Pildesti of the goal. Hungary's supporters rose to their feet, but Antal Valentin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marian Văduvescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Major Barnas short, quick shot in the 73rdth minute got Marian Văduvescu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save FC Steaua Pildesti from getting a goal against them. Katona Janos hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvestre Pumarejo in the 78th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Silvestre Pumarejo put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Fodor Daniel. Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucian Stere, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Antal Valentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Silvestre Pumarejo in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fodor Daniel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Major Barna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Hungary booed when FC Steaua Pildesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nistor Costandache didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucian Stere fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fodor Daniel having to interfere.
