Canevare's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Denmark the free kick. Canevare's Alberigo Tripodi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Nygaard in the 6th minute of play. Canevare's Acep Hasanuddin got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 12 minutes, Chris Nygaard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Denmark's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chris Nygaard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 18 minutes into the game, Franco Ottavi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Canevare's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Denmark the free kick. After a rather tough play, Canevare's Franco Ottavi got a free kick in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bertram Svenningsen in the 21st minute of play forced Canevare's goalkeeper Alberigo Tripodi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chris Nygaard might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alberigo Tripodi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chris Nygaard ran back to his position shaking his head. Mathias Ludvigsen's late challenge caught a Canevare's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mathias Ludvigsen helped the player get up and apologised. Amedeo Papetti shot the penalty kick right outside the post. The supporters of Canevare booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mikkel Wulff didn't get a good kick on the ball. Keld Paulsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavio Azzolina in the 30th minute of play. Canevare's Alberigo Tripodi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Nygaard in the 32nd minute of play. 36 minutes into the game, Canevare's Acep Hasanuddin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Keld Paulsen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 40th minute Flavio Azzolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keld Paulsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberigo Tripodi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chris Nygaard in the 43rd minute of play. Keld Paulsen went to the wrong direction when Amedeo Papetti was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chris Nygaard made a kick off. Denmark's Keld Paulsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amerigo Bosso in the 60th minute of play. In the 71st match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olav Graversen to maneuver through the defense. 73 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Flavio Azzolina came free, but Keld Paulsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Chris Nygaard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alberigo Tripodi was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. After 83 played minutes Canevare got a freekick which was hit by Acep Hasanuddin. Keld Paulsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Acep Hasanuddin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Canevare's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
