Loramendi Valdivia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Sachs, who was totally free with the ball in the 2nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Carlos Tello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Carlos Tello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 13th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albin Holweck to maneuver through the defense. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tommy Kahn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rosario Cardona in the 18th minute. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Rosario Cardona sped through Germany's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. Wally Lécuyer hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After having played for 45 minutes, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Germany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Sachs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 46 minutes into the match, Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rosario Cardona. Frank Sachs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Loramendi Valdivia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frank Sachs was the one to do the kick off. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Azzurri FC's goalkeeper Loramendi Valdivia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frank Sachs. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Germany's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Sachs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Loramendi Valdivia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Tello in the 68th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Tello came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jules Barrett in the 81st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Rosario Cardona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Rosario Cardona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Azzurri FC made a substitution. Nelson Jodion replaced Wally Lécuyer. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rosario Cardona in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommy Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rosario Cardona in the 96th minute of play. Azzurri FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
