In the 8th match minute, Golden Lions FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans Alén to maneuver through the defense. In the 9th minute of the match Jan-Erik Ingemarsson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jesper Tomasson skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the Strömsbro IF defense, Dennis Jacobsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Per-Olof Walroth. The Strömsbro IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Per-Olof Walroth should have stopped the shot. Strömsbro IF's Per-Olof Walroth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bengt-Rune Wallin in the 15th minute of play. Hannes Larsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesper Tomasson having to interfere. A collision led to Golden Lions FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Alex Nordström hit a great ball. In the 24th minute, Paul Hellström sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Golden Lions FC's Jesper Tomasson didn't even have to move. Per-Olof Walroth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennis Jacobsson in the 25th minute of the match. Jens-Ola Norberg charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jens-Ola Norberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jesper Tomasson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas Lövkvist in the 31st minute of play. In the 31stth minute of the game Thomas Lövkvist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Golden Lions FC's Jesper Tomasson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 35th minute, Strömsbro IF's Thomas Lövkvist dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Strömsbro IF's Per-Olof Walroth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bengt-Rune Wallin in the 41st minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hannes Larsson to strike the kick off in the second half. Per-Olof Walroth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dennis Jacobsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bengt-Rune Wallin got free with Per-Olof Walroth in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Dennis Jacobsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Per-Olof Walroth was a little too slow when Asa Jacobsson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 1-3. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Strömsbro IF's goalkeeper Per-Olof Walroth, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Golden Lions FC's Dennis Jacobsson in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Strömsbro IF's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Asa Jacobsson got free with Per-Olof Walroth in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jesper Tomasson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paul Hellström in the 83rd minute of the match. After 84 minutes, Fabian Majman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Golden Lions FC and the Strömsbro IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Golden Lions FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Fabian Majman hit a great ball. In the 85th minute of the match Jan-Erik Ingemarsson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jesper Tomasson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Golden Lions FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
