Flavio Vittori didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nicolas Roland went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Vélez Juniors's Benicio Rivas was substituted for Benigno Gurutz. Elpidio Vitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Siricio Liotta in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th minute of the match Italy got a corner. Vélez Juniors's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sigfrido Auletta ran over to the corner to take the kick. Deodato Magliozzi kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Elpidio Vitin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
