Nery Pumpido was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. CRONOPIOS Y FAMAS's Ter Stefanek proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save CRONOPIOS Y FAMAS from getting a goal against them. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Ter Stefanek successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. GuateFortín were furious when Christian Najarro was red carded, 26 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 27th match minute, GuateFortín was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Najarro to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to GuateFortín getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Christian Najarro hit a great ball. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ter Stefanek made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Zico Zellier sent off a good shot on target. Nery Pumpido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Atilano Idacio in the 37th minute of play. Oscar-Alfredo Ruggeri got a throw-in 38 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Benito Fiz. 39 minutes into the match, CRONOPIOS Y FAMAS's goal looked a bit too open when Stanyo Búnkov came free, but Ter Stefanek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Angel Alvarenga got free with Ter Stefanek in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Konrad Dylla made a kick off. Ter Stefanek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zico Zellier, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Nery Pumpido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Atilano Idacio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of CRONOPIOS Y FAMAS booed when GuateFortín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angel Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Claudio Cerritos made in the 59th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Stanyo Búnkov.
