The audience was convinced that Gijsbert ter Kruimer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oliveiro Gijon was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. 15 minutes into the match, Joélson Messias dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Arnout Reekers, 1-0. After 19 minutes of play, Netherlands's Lars Meesters made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oliveiro Gijon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Inacio Garrote in the 23rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Inacio Garrote got free with Arnout Reekers in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Amador Huarte tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pieterjan Neef received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Arnout Reekers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bas Tuitert to maneuver through the defense. After 30 played minutes, Carpasús FC - FDC's Mihajlo Maleš shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Arnout Reekers came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Carpasús FC - FDC reached it. In the 32nd minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Oliveiro Gijon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amador Huarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 40 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joélson Messias, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After 45 played minutes Carpasús FC - FDC got a freekick which was hit by Xavieon Charro. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Inacio Garrote stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amador Huarte in the 54th minute of play. Oliveiro Gijon was out of position in the 59 minute of play, and Gijsbert ter Kruimer capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gijsbert ter Kruimer really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inacio Garrote in the 66th minute of the match. David Eikelkamp took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Oliveiro Gijon. Oliveiro Gijon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. After a rather tough play, Carpasús FC - FDC's Sol Prat got a free kick in the 77th minute. After having played for 78 minutes, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wim Wilmes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amador Huarte in the 82nd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute, Netherlands's Lars Meesters ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Oliveiro Gijon. Oliveiro Gijon yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. After 91 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Gijsbert ter Kruimer. Wim Wilmes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Oliveiro Gijon made a huge save.
