The Mesudiye fc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabien Heijligem should have stopped the shot. Mesudiye fc's Fabien Heijligem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Barrios in the 22nd minute of play. Fabien Heijligem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Ximen Alonso was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Mathias-Alexander Van Deuren capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ximen Alonso came out of the goal and Mathias-Alexander Van Deuren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mesudiye fc's Mathias-Alexander Van Deuren got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee felt a red card was in order, 43 minutes into the game, when Belarmo Ribas put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 43rd minute of the game. One of Puerta Blanca F.C:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mesudiye fc:s goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mathias-Alexander Van Deuren to strike the kick off in the second half.
