The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Otto Hermansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Barbu in the 3rd minute of play. The FC Szczucin fans' excitement grew in the 6th match minute when FC Szczucin's Emanuel Barbu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When FC Szczucin's Emanuel Barbu in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Claes Ahlroht received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Iwan Swoboda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Otto Hermansson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Badaz Kibøl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Szczucin's Iwan Swoboda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claes Ahlroht in the 29th minute of play. Emanuel Barbu in the 30thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Otto Hermansson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Barbu in the 35th minute of play forced Newcastle United FC's goalkeeper Otto Hermansson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A well-hit corner resulted in Edgar Zima heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After 38 played minutes FC Szczucin got a freekick which was hit by Angelo Sayveon. Iwan Swoboda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claes Ahlroht, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute of the match Newcastle United FC got a corner. FC Szczucin's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Claes Ahlroht ran over to the corner to take the kick. Claes Ahlroht made a great header on Newcastle United FC's corner, it was just that FC Szczucin's Iwan Swoboda managed to reach the ball for a save. A collision led to Newcastle United FC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Nichifor Crivoi hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmund Walentowicz got free with Otto Hermansson in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Otto Hermansson managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when FC Szczucin's Emanuel Barbu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jorge Cordeiro made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Badaz Kibøl managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Szczucin's supporters rose to their feet, but Badaz Kibøl was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Otto Hermansson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FC Szczucin's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edmund Walentowicz in the 57th minute. A nice corner shot did that Edmund Walentowicz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Otto Hermansson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Emanuel Barbu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Otto Hermansson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Marko Gustavsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Iwan Swoboda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Newcastle United FC made a substitution. Tord Åström replaced Claes Ahlroht. Newcastle United FC's Robert Hökqvist was substituted for Max Mohammad. In the 70th minute Emanuel Barbu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otto Hermansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emanuel Barbu in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Otto Hermansson saved Newcastle United FC from getting behind. In the 85th minute Badaz Kibøl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otto Hermansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Emanuel Barbu sped through Newcastle United FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Otto Hermansson. Iwan Swoboda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Hökqvist in the 88th minute of the match. Marko Gustavsson came free with the goalkeeper in the 97th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Iwan Swoboda could save by the left post. Newcastle United FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
